Indianapolis family owned contractor is seeking an Estimator.  This position is responsible for acquiring projects and managing the initial stages of contracts until operations take over.  Responsibilities in acquiring work include assisting construction manager/architects on early stage budgeting, explore appropriate projects to bid, putting together bids/estimates on projects.  Post bidding responsibilities include value engineered pricing estimates, vendor/subcontractor scope reviews/selections, early submittal items related to contract approval, notice to proceed/letters of intent to vendors, and communication with operations for them to assume project management and completion. 
Candidate must have a Bachelor Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering or Engineering Science and a minimum of 5 years estimating experience.  Must have excellent computer skills including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft’s Project Schedule.  Candidate must also be able to pass a ten panel drug screen and criminal history background check.  Full benefits - 401(k)
 
Required Physical Abilities:

Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, use stairs and move from one area of the building to another on a regular basis
Sit and use a computer for a long period of time
Manual and physical dexterity needed to operate keyboard and mouse and handle paper documents
Sufficient near vision acuity to read information appearing on computer display screen, in handwritten forms, and printed on paper
Adequate hearing and verbal abilities to communicate effectively in person and by telephone
Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds unassisted
